A 78-year-old Barnard man sustained moderate injuries Monday evening after his vehicle was rear-ended on U.S. Highway 71 south of Maryville. The crash occurred when a pickup truck struck the victim's car as he attempted to turn onto 340th Street.
MARYVILLE, MO - A 78-year-old Barnard man was injured Monday evening in a two-vehicle rear-end collision on U.S. Highway 71, approximately five miles south of Maryville. The accident occurred when his Lincoln Continental was struck from behind by a Dodge 3500 while attempting to turn onto 340th Street.
The victim was transported to Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville with moderate injuries, while the driver of the Dodge remained uninjured. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office investigated the scene.
