Beginning Saturday, August 15, the Downtown Maryville Market will relocate from its original Nodaway Valley Bank parking lot location to its new permanent home at the North Main Street pavilion, featuring covered vendor space and expanded amenities for its weekly Saturday morning market.
MARYVILLE, MO — The Downtown Maryville Market is moving to a new home.
Beginning Saturday, August 15, the market will be held at the new pavilion on North Main Street.
Now in its fourth year, the Downtown Maryville Market has become a popular Saturday morning destination for residents and visitors. The market hosts an average of 30 vendors each week and welcomes more than 300 patrons between 8 a.m. and noon.
Since its launch, the market has been hosted in the Nodaway Valley Bank parking lot at Fourth and Buchanan streets. The location has provided an important home for the growing market, while nearby First Christian Church has generously provided restroom access for vendors and visitors.
“We are incredibly grateful to Nodaway Valley Bank for allowing the Downtown Maryville Market to call its parking lot home over the past four years,” said Downtown Maryville Executive Director DeAnn Davison. “Their generosity helped give the market the space it needed to establish itself and grow into the community event it is today. We also want to sincerely thank First Christian Church for graciously providing access to its restrooms
throughout that time. Both organizations have been wonderful community partners.”
The move to the new pavilion on North Main Street marks an exciting next chapter for the Downtown Maryville Market and reflects the City of Maryville’s continued investment in downtown revitalization and small business development. Downtown Maryville is thankful for the City’s commitment to creating opportunities and infrastructure that help strengthen the downtown district, support local entrepreneurs and encourage continued economic activity.
Farmers markets and similar community markets play an important role in the local economy by providing entrepreneurs with a low-cost way to enter the marketplace.
Vendors can test new products, build a customer base, gain valuable feedback and grow their businesses without many of the costs associated with opening a traditional storefront. For some entrepreneurs, a market booth can serve as an important first step toward building a larger business.

Markets like ours create an accessible starting point for people who have an idea or a product they want to bring to the community, and they help keep more dollars circulating locally. We’re excited to see what opportunities this new space creates for our vendors and for downtown as a whole.”
The pavilion is a covered structure designed to provide vendors and patrons with a dedicated market space and greater protection from the elements. The facility is also equipped with electricity for vendors and utility hookups to accommodate food trucks, providing additional flexibility for market operations and future events.
“We are excited to begin using this new facility and see how it can help us grow the Downtown Maryville Market even more,” said Downtown Maryville Vendor Coordinator Autumn Quimby. “Having a covered, dedicated space with amenities for our vendors and food trucks opens up new possibilities for the market. We’ve built tremendous momentum over the first four years, and we look forward to welcoming vendors, residents and visitors to our new home.”
The first Downtown Maryville Market at the new pavilion will take place Saturday, August 15, from 8 a.m. to noon. To ease the transition, Main Street will be closed from Fourth to Fifth streets during set-up and the event. The community is invited to visit the new location, support local vendors and help celebrate this milestone for the market.
