The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce will host a free, public Summer Candidate Forum on Wednesday, July 15th at the Rose Hill Acres Event Center, allowing voters to hear from candidates in contested and unopposed races ahead of the August Primary Election.

MARYVILLE, MO — The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce invites the public to attend its Summer Candidate Forum on Wednesday, July 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Rose Hill Acres Event Center, 105 South Main, Maryville. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.

The Candidate Forum, sponsored by Evergy, provides voters the opportunity to hear directly from candidates before the upcoming August Primary Election. Community members are encouraged to attend this free public event.

Invitations have been extended to candidates in three contested races:

  • Missouri State Auditor
  • U.S. Representative, District 6
  • Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney

The forum will begin with brief introductory remarks from each candidate, followed by a question-and-answer session moderated by a panel of local media representatives.

Candidates seeking offices without opposition have also been invited to attend and will be available to meet with attendees during a reception immediately following the forum.

"The Candidate Forum is a great opportunity for citizens to hear directly from candidates and acquire the information they need to help them make an informed vote," said Becky Albrecht, Executive Director of the Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce. "The Chamber conducts this event to connect candidates and the community. It is just one of the many ways the Chamber advocates, connects, and promotes for a better Maryville, and we are thankful for Evergy's sponsorship."

The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce encourages all area residents to take advantage of this opportunity to become informed about the candidates and engage in the democratic process ahead of the August Primary Election.
