The Maryville Chamber of Commerce is inviting local non-profits to nominate representatives for its annual "Grinch of Maryville" contest, a holiday fundraiser where community votes raise money for local organizations and the winner serves as grand marshal of the downtown Christmas parade.

MARYVILLE, MO — The Maryville Chamber of Commerce is inviting local non-profit organizations to submit nominations for the annual "Grinch of Maryville" competition.

Non-profits may nominate a director, employee, board member, volunteer, or any individual affiliated with their organization. Nominations are open through Oct. 16 and can be submitted online by visiting www.maryvillechamber.com, navigating to the "Events" tab, and selecting "The Grinch."

Following the submission deadline, four nominees will be selected for a community-wide vote. Residents can cast their votes by donating money into designated containers located at Walmart, where each dollar donated counts as one vote.

All proceeds raised during the voting process will directly benefit the non-profit organization represented by each candidate.

The nominee who collects the most votes will be crowned the Grinch of Maryville. The winner will be announced and serve as the grand marshal for the Maryville Downtown Christmas Parade on Dec. 4.
