The 71st Annual Southwest Iowa Band Jamboree will return to Clarinda October 3rd, showcasing over 45 marching bands from across the region in a morning parade through the historic downtown square and an afternoon competitive field show at the high school stadium.
CLARINDA, IA - The 71st Annual Southwest Iowa Band Jamboree, Clarinda’s longest-running musical tradition, will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The event is co-sponsored by the Clarinda Chamber of Commerce, Clarinda Community Schools, and the City of Clarinda.
This year’s event is led by Chairperson Katy Ridge and Vice Chairperson Julie Murren.
The day begins with a parade at 9:00 a.m. through the historic downtown Clarinda square, featuring over 45 marching bands from Iowa, Missouri, and Nebraska. The event draws more than 2,000 students, parents, and spectators to Clarinda for a full day of musical celebration.
Afternoon field activities will begin at 12:45 p.m. at the Clarinda High School Football Stadium, starting with a flag-raising ceremony conducted by the American Legion Sergy Post No. 98. The Clarinda High School Marching Band will showcase their talents before the competitive field show begins.
Admission for the field events is $7 for adults and $5 for students. The afternoon events will conclude with an award ceremony around 6:00 p.m.
