Sculpture Walk 2026 Returns for its 13th year to Downtown St. Joseph, Offering Free Public Art Experiences Year-Round
ST. JOSEPH, MO — The Allied Arts Council is proud to announce the return of Sculpture Walk 2026, an outdoor public art exhibition that transforms downtown St. Joseph into an open-air gallery featuring striking sculptures from talented regional and national artists.
Free and open to the public 365 days a year, Sculpture Walk invites residents and visitors alike to experience art beyond the walls of a gallery. The exhibition features a curated collection of sculptures placed throughout downtown, encouraging exploration, conversation, and engagement with public spaces while showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of artists from across the region and beyond.
The community is invited to kick off the 2026 exhibition during the season’s first guided Sculpture Walk on Saturday, June 13. The morning will begin with an Artist Meet and Greet at 9:30 a.m., providing attendees the opportunity to meet several of the featured artists and learn more about their work. Guided walking tours will begin at 10:00 a.m. and depart every half hour, with the final tour starting at 11:30 a.m.
“The Sculpture Walk continues to be one of the most accessible ways for people to experience art,” said Jessica Agnew. “Whether you're visiting downtown for the first time or pass these streets every day, the sculptures offer new perspectives and opportunities to connect with creativity in unexpected places.”
Visitors can enjoy the artwork at their own pace while shopping, dining, attending events, or simply exploring downtown St. Joseph. In addition to enhancing the downtown landscape, the Sculpture Walk supports the Allied Arts Council’s mission to enrich the community through arts and culture. The program provides artists with valuable exposure while making high-quality public art accessible to everyone.
Community members are also encouraged to vote for their favorite sculpture throughout the exhibition. The recipient of the People’s Choice Award will receive special recognition, and the winning sculpture may be considered for purchase and permanent installation in the community.
The 2026 Sculpture Walk exhibition will remain on display throughout the year, providing ongoing opportunities for residents and visitors to engage with public art and discover downtown St. Joseph in a new way.
